Dr. Melissa Barker is the founder and CEO of The Phoenix Project, a social impact startup based in the Bay Area. The caring digital community supports mental health and wellness anywhere, anytime, and the company is currently building audio-first healing experiences for trauma survivors. As a survivor of sexual assault, Melissa founded The Phoenix Project with the mission of creating a space “where all survivors can have access to high quality healing and care so that they may (re)find their joy.”
The Hall of Femme honoree believes in giving back to her community; she has served on the Board of Directors for STAND!, a nonprofit that supports survivors of violence in the Bay Area. Dr. Barker's motivation comes from “the vision of a world where all have equal access to high-quality healing practices.” She makes sure to uplift other women by extending her network and opportunities. “I believe in the power of community and collective care,” she says. “When we rise together, we all win.”Find Dr. Barker on Instagram.
