Tammy Gordon

By day, Tammy Gordon runs social media for Novavax - the first protein-based COVID-19 vaccine to be offered in the United States. But food and wine is her passion. Earlier this year – after a Washington, DC food critic missed an opportunity to shout out women sommeliers by name – Tammy co-founded DCWomeninWine.com, a list to connect women in the wine industry in Washington, DC to media, professional opportunities and fans.

“I think it's important, when you see people being left out of a discussion or not sitting out of the table, to amplify their voices and seek to elevate their work,” she says. “I've always wanted to help the most people that I can. Whether that was a career in politics, non-profits or - now - in the public health space, I've always kept ‘how does this work make the world - or someone's life - better?’ in mind.”

Tammy recently received her WSET Level 2 Award in wines, and serves as partnerships and public relations advisor for Black Wine Professionals, an organization dedicated to lifting up multifaceted Black professionals in the world of wine. She is the co-host of The Moveable Feast, a weekly podcast of restaurant recommendations. While Washington, DC has been home for the past 20 years, Tammy is a native of native of Tampa, FL, where she spends as much of winter as possible.
