7 Galentine's Day Party Ideas

At Une Femme, we’re all about taking any occasion - big or small - to celebrate the women in our lives, and Galentine’s Day is the perfect time to gather your closest gal pals for a night to remember! We put together this list of fun party ideas to get you started, but we know one thing for sure: champagne is always necessary.

FAVORITE THINGS PARTY
At its most basic, a favorite things party is a gift exchange. However, unlike a traditional gift swap, you select a favorite item of your own as your gift(s) to bring.

All guests are asked to bring a set number of the same unwrapped gift (usually 3) at a specific price point. Each person then goes home with the same number of gifts they came with.

This is a fantastic way to share your favorite things with your favorite people, and who knows, maybe you’ll walk away with a new go-to lipstick or some fun cocktail glasses.

COOKIE SWAP
Cookie swaps aren’t just for the holidays! Instruct your friends to bring a cookie or baked goods (think brownies, cupcakes, etc.) to exchange. Bonus points for homemade! You can provide containers for guests or have them bring their own.

BRING YOUR OWN COCKTAIL (BYOC) PARTY

It’s a cocktail party with a twist and way less planning on your part! The basic idea is this: invite your friends to bring ingredients for a cocktail (or mocktail) of their choosing. Then, you have a bar full of fun cocktails to share. Who knows, maybe you’ll find a delicious new go-to cocktail. Here are some ideas to get you started.

CLASSIC SLEEPOVER
When was the last time you had a sleepover with your friends? You don’t have to invite people to spend the night, but a fun sleepover-themed party sparks nostalgia and is a great excuse to gather friends for a cozy night in. Encourage your gals to show up in their cutest pajama set, put out some of your favorite nostalgic childhood snacks, and plan to watch some classic rom-coms.
CLOTHING SWAP
Get a head start on your spring cleaning and host a clothing swap. At this party, you and your friends can bring clothing items you no longer wear and exchange them for something new-to-you. Not only does this help save clothes from going to a landfill, it also gives you and your friends a chance to get style inspiration from each other.

COOKBOOK PARTY
Avoid the pressure of cooking for a crowd and have your friends bring something to share from the same cookbook. The idea is simple: pick a cookbook and have each person choose a dish to bring from that book. Here are some of our favorite cookbooks (written by women, of course!) to get you started:

Feed These People by Jen Hatmaker

What’s Gaby Cooking: Eat What You Want by Gaby Dalkin

Half Baked Harvest Super Simple by Tieghan Gerard

For the Table by Anna Stockwell

Savor by Kimberly Stevens

The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook by Ina Garten

FEMALE AUTHOR BOOK SWAP
It’s like a book club without the commitment: gather your friends for an evening to share your favorite books with each other. Each person will bring a book to exchange with the group. Each person comes with one book and leaves with another. This is a fantastic way to share your favorite reads with your friends.

No matter what you choose to do with your ladies for Galentine’s Day, don’t forget the bubbly!
