Amanda Zuckerman

A simple shopping trip for Amanda’s freshman dorm room sparked the idea for her future startup. When Amanda and her mother, Karen, had trouble finding stylish and sophisticated dorm decor, they realized there wasn't a one-stop destination for dorm room shopping – and it was a problem Amanda’s peers were having as well. The mother-daughter duo created a vision for Dormify, which simplifies the decor shopping experience for dorms by providing that “one stop shop” for small spaces without sacrificing style.

The startup wasn’t immediate. Amanda started a blog on the subject when she got to college, and had many contributing writers. Within a few years, she was running a multimillion dollar company from her dorm room - with help from her mom’s creative agency and another friend, Stephanie Kimel - and continues as the cofounder and CEO of the Manhattan-based headquarters today. In 2018, she was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
