Christine Yi
Christine is the cofounder/advisor of Potli, which makes cannabis-infused ingredients and lifestyle products; a senior venture architect at consulting agency BCG Digital Ventures; and a scout for Vice Ventures. Based in Los Angeles, she and her Potli cofounder, Felicity Chen, met in college a decade ago and work full-time while piloting the cannabis startup.
Before her current roles, Christine worked as a strategy manager for Ann, Inc. (Ann Taylor, LOFT, and Lou & Grey) and management consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is passionate about all things wellness, CPG, retail, customer experience, and growth. The idea for Potli began when Chen created a hemp-infused honey to help treat her mother’s asthma, inspired by her Asian immigrant heritage of plant-based medicine. From weed-infused honey and EVOO to green tea pearls and sriracha, the Potli products have gained a cult-like following, with influencers posting their own cooking creations to social media. For Chen and Yi, it’s about premium products, yes, but also representation: they’re some of the few women minorities in the cannabis space right now.
Christine is also a member of the Asian Women Alliance (AWA), which gives 100% of donations to nonprofits and organizations dedicated to fighting Asian hate and driving social, political, and economic change for the AAPI community. Find her on Instagram: @christinesyi.
