Gaby Graham

Gabriela Graham is a special education teacher based in the Bronx, New York. For the past 10 years, she has worked with children on the autism spectrum in District 75, whose programs provide highly specialized instructional support for students with significant challenges. “I feel very, very thankful to love what I do; I think it is my greatest superpower in adulthood,” says Gaby. “Every day I'm excited to see my kids and try new lessons and activities with them. Watching how my students digest information is the greatest, most fascinating gift in the world.”

Gabriela was nominated for the Hall of Femme by Liz Eddy, who calls her “a superhero in a very forgotten area of our beautiful city.” Gaby’s power as an educator stems from her desire to invest in our children and communities in order to create a more equal and just world. She is also passionate about creating a lasting impact.

“I still remember my favorite teachers, and am still in communication with many of them, and I truly hope I leave the same imprint with my students and their families,” says Gabriela. “In the end, all we have is each other, and if we work together and learn from one another we truly can make a difference.”
