Hannah Collins

“Building systems, structures, organizations, and physical spaces makes my heart beat fast!”

Hannah Collins is the founder and principal designer of ROY, a full-service hospitality design studio based in San Francisco. After graduating from the Academy of Art University with a degree in interior architecture and working in restaurants, Hannah launched ROY with her sister Emily in 2013 — their firm’s projects have since garnered national recognition in publications like Dwell, Lonny, Eater, and Remodelista. The Hall of Femme honoree is proud to own a 100 percent female-run business and encounter “some of the most dynamic, creative, and courageous people” in her favorite industry.

“I love the challenge of pushing myself as a designer to always be trying something new. There is never a dull day; I am always learning!” Hannah says. “Most women need people who truly believe in them; they are generally more qualified than they think, and giving women power to grow and dream is a very important part of our values within ROY.”

Hannah’s business and personal values overlap in many ways. “I am aesthetically driven, devoted to authentic connection, a true entrepreneur and creative, and courageous enough to build things that aspire to make an impact,” says Hannah. “I feel so fortunate to have a life where my work is so directly related to the world I want to live in.”
