Ib Majekodunmi

Ib Majekodunmi is a founder of Refinecltv, a digital community that identifies and supports minority-owned businesses and freelancers. Launched in 2020, their mission is to “funnel purchasing power into the hands of the underrepresented.” What started as a passion project has grown to an online directory of over 1,500 women- and minority-owned small businesses, a resource sharing network, and a touring vendor market funneling over $75,000 back into the hands of the underrepresented.

“Through Refine Collective, I amplify women entrepreneurs by providing a platform to showcase and sell their work, but most importantly to connect and support one another,” Ib says. “Outside of my work, I try to do whatever I can to be a support to all women, be it providing an intro or just a smile during trying times. I want to see everyone happy and supported.”

The proud Chicagoan is extremely passionate about her community, and most of her free time is spent “gallivanting around the city” with loved ones. “Community is my work's pillar,” she says. Ib aligns her work with those values by “fostering genuine community among makers and creators of all types and backgrounds.” Ib is also a freelance project manager and events producer, self-proclaimed bibliophile, and a “retired-yet-thriving dancer.”
