Julia Olayanju, PhD

Julia Olayanju, PhD is a scientist, educator and founder of FoodNiche Inc., a company that leverages thought-leadership and strategic partnership to promote a healthier food system. Since 2015, Julia has led a team bringing together food industry stakeholders in conversation at internationally recognized conferences like FoodNiche® Global Health Summit. She is also leveraging technology to tackle childhood and adolescent obesity and empower teachers to introduce nutrition education in schools with the FoodNiche®-Ed web platform. 

Julia was nominated for the Hall of Femme by Sola, who describes her as highly educated, inspirational and “a leading voice driving change in the food industry.” She also praises Julia for motivating the women in her community. “Beyond her work, Julia is an inspiration to many, showing women that gender, race and country of origin is not a limitation,” Sola says. 

“Success is defined by the difference you make in people's lives,” says Julia, who earned her doctorate degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Rutgers University before continuing her studies at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. “I strongly believe and support the next generation of female leaders.”
