Kristin Olscewski
Kristin Olszewski started her hospitality career by cooking in the Bay Area. Since then, she has been a sommelier at Saison in San Francisco, Straight Wharf Restaurant in Nantucket, Husk Nashville, Osteria Mozza in LA, and is currently the wine director at Gigi’s in LA. Kristin is the founder and CEO of Nomadica, where she partners small, domestic winemakers with artists for a sommelier-curated, canned wine shopping experience. And after years in the industry, Kristin believes uplifting other women is just a benchmark standard.
“The best way to level the playing field is by promoting more women to positions of leadership – I'm always available to women who are starting companies or looking for career advice,” she says. “At Nomadica, we feel strongly about mentoring from within, and view our team members as humans and not as cogs within a machine.”
With an undergrad degree in sustainable agriculture and women, gender, race, ethnicity, and sexuality studies, Kristin is able to use her current platform to put intersectional feminist environmentalism into action. Lowering environmental impact drives her, and Nomadica supports organizations like Lift Collective, which promotes diversity within the wine industry by empowering women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and the environment. Kristin, who is based in Los Angeles, has been featured in Forbes, Vogue, Fortune, and was one of Wine Enthusiast’s 40 under 40 in 2021.
