Laura Jones
As the Chief Marketing Officer at Instacart, Laura is responsible for shaping a cohesive brand, fueling the company’s growth, and scaling the marketing organization. In less than a year, she led a comprehensive brand identity refresh, launched the company’s first-ever integrated brand campaign, built out the Creative Studio, and developed a full-funnel, in-house media team.
“I believe food is an expression of love, so I instantly connected to Instacart's mission - to create a world where everyone has access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together,” says Laura. “I love that I get to tap into both my left-brain and right-brain, flexing across both analytical and creative work, and coaching others to develop on both dimensions. My team's work spans everything from building investment models to styling video shoots, so there is always a new challenge.”
Prior to Instacart, Laura spent six years at Uber, most recently as the Global Head of Marketing for its Rides business. At Uber, she built the global product marketing team from the ground up, spanning Uber’s whole product portfolio (Rides, Eats, Freight, etc). She also previously worked at Google and Visa. Laura has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and an undergraduate degree in Economics and Government from Dartmouth. She is based in San Francisco with her husband, Brian, and their two kids and loves painting, baking with her family, and open water swimming (she is a long-time member of the Dolphin Swimming and Boating Club).
