Melissa Beck

Melissa is the president of Anonymous Philanthropy, an advisory firm located in Orange County, CA and Franklin, TN which helps individuals, families, private foundations, and corporations achieve the maximum possible impact with their philanthropic dollars. Prior to joining Anonymous Philanthropy in 2018, Melissa was the CEO for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and the Inland Empire. In her nearly six years there, she grew revenue over 300%, was named a top place to work by the Orange County Business Journal, and reduced turnover to single digits, making it the second largest affiliate for Big Brothers Big Sisters in the country. Her tenure capped off with two $10+ million capital projects, and she was the first ever non-profit executive to be honored at the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards

“My job is to do the hard work of really learning the root cause of any issue, drafting a detailed and robust strategic plan to solve it and then working with the best people in the world to get that done,” said Melissa. “I could be in a meeting about rebuilding Manhattan's Chinatown in the morning, talking about employment for the formerly incarcerated at lunch and then meeting with individuals about education reform after that.  My brain is always stimulated and stretched.”

Melissa currently serves as the president of the board of both the UCI Alumni Association and the Dean’s Advisory Board at the UCI Paul Merage School of Business. She lives in San Juan Capistrano with her husband, Harry, and their three sons.
