Melody Stein

Melody was born into a family of entrepreneurs in Hong Kong. After growing up around her parents’ Chinese eatery in San Francisco, it only made sense that she’d become a third-generation business owner. Since 2007, the deaf entrepreneur has founded several businesses including Yantern, a consulting service for deaf entrepreneurs which she co-founded with her husband, Russ Stein, who is also deaf.

“I have this desire to go out and make a difference,” she said. “I love (when) people find our work inspirational and motivational. We show them that we have this ‘can do’ attitude.”

Keeping with the tradition of multi-generational entrepreneurship, Melody’s most recent venture is MxT 2510, a sustainable clothing brand she cofounded with her daughter, Taysia Stein.
