Pamela Wiznitzer
All hail the queen of cocktails. Pamela Wiznitzer is the beverage consultant for NYC rooftop bar The Lookup, and has been named by Forbes as one of America’s top female mixologists. After being laid off from a corporate marketing job during the 2008 recession, the Hall of Femme honoree worked at a sports bar to pay the bills. An untapped talent for crafting cocktails was soon revealed, and Pamela’s passion and unstoppable work ethic led her to sling drinks at Big Apple venues like Dead Rabbit, Seamstress, and The Henry.
Pamela has been taking on the spirits industry for over a decade and featured in publications like The New York Times, Glamour, Shape, and Travel & Leisure. You can also catch her as bartender in residence on the interview series The X Change Rate with RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Monet X Change. Pamela maintains strong connections with other women in hospitality (one of her early mixology mentors, Julie Reiner, is also a Hall of Femme honoree!) and shares sage wisdom for those entering the arena.
“This career is not a walk in the park. It requires commitment, passion and patience,” Pamela says. “But be bold and resilient. In time, you will find your place in the community and others around you will support your endeavors.”
