Timeka Drew

Cannabis saved Timeka Drew’s life, and now she’s made it her life’s work. She entered the cannabis industry in the early 2000s as a medical patient and advocate when she was suffering from Crohn's Disease in college and was told she would never be able to have children due to her health problems. After taking control of her health through cannabis and birthing four beautiful children, Timeka became the founder and CEO of Biko, a California cannabis brand that serves cannabis connoisseurs with consistency and award-winning production quality, while helping normalize black women as curators of luxury cannabis experiences.

“I never imagined that this herbal medicine that has been used (by women) for hundreds of years would be central in my ability to not only survive, but to thrive,” she said. “I want to help normalize this healing plant in order to help those that can benefit from it and offer those that want to enjoy it recreationally safe places to be a part of the growing cannabis community.”

Timeka also serves as the chief growth officer of the award-winning, vertically integrated retailer NUG and sits on the Board of the Cannabis Equity Retailers Association (CERA) and Social Equity LA. She is a member of the Equity Trade Certification (ETC) Leadership Coalition, the ETC Policy Committee, and the Social Equity Owners and Workers Association (SEOWA).
